Executive Update  7:00 pm 31 Mar 2016

Another engineering report is to be prepared with the intent
that it be published in Dec 2016.  As POSAC does not meet
until Mar 2017 it is likely that we will have access to the
existing hall through to early March 2017.

A discussion arose about how the, to be built, Meadowood Recreation
Centre was negotiated.  There may be a lesson for us.

The team now has copies of the original sale documents that transferred
the Women's Institute Hall to the RDN.

A brief discussion of the need for a 'business model' to accompany
our 'contruction' proposals was held.  What style of operation is
suited to a small, single room community hall with a 'food safe'
kitchen?  There are models of larger organizations such as the
Lighthouse Community Centre with several rooms of varying sizes
but a single room?

The questionnaire has been circulated to about 200 people with about 60 responses.  Your steering committee is analyzing the results.  It seems that the respondents support a new 'steel' building but that has yet to be confirmed.

As the analysis spreadsheets contain names and other identifying information the spreadsheets are not posted.   The trend of the responses will be posted when they have been tabulated.

It was agreed that this website be published so that community members can be aware of the status of the project:

In early August, a questionnaire will be circulated throughout our community to assess interest in repairing or replacing the community hall.

The steering committee will analyze the results and proceed accordingly.
